Season 1 of Flip or Flop Atlanta is going to be a blast to Watch – Here’s Why

When Anita and I started filming Season 1 of FOF Atlanta in July of last year, we really didn’t know what to expect. Other than the pilot we had filmed the previous year, we didn’t have experience filming together and certainly didn’t know how things would play out over the course of our filming schedule. On top of this, the green light we received to film season one was immediately followed by actual filming! … suffice to say, we had to quickly figure out which properties we were going to use for the show and immediately begin lining up new ones.

As it worked out, many of the houses we had recently picked up (or had under contract to purchase) were total dumpster fires! In fact, the very first house we started filming in Smyrna, Ga had just been vacated by disgruntled tenants who left behind just about everything they owned … most of which was buried underneath four feet of grass in the backyard.

Midway through the season was picked up a house in Decatur, Ga that contained quite possibly the creepiest basement I’d ever been in. There is some pretty funny footage of Anita and I venturing down a spiral staircase into a pitch black basement with no idea what we find … other than the mold we could smell wafting up the staircase. Lets just say when we go down there, it did NOT disappoint. (think mold, rusty pipes , and a fishtank built into a bar)

Over the course of our filming schedule, many of the flips that fell into place for the show were fairly sizeable projects … many of which were 80K+ renovations. As a result, the transformations are pretty awesome. In fact, the first episode that will air on July 20th is one of those incredible transformations. We take a VERY ugly split level home in an upscale neighborhood and completely transform the exterior and interior … even changing the original architectural style!

At the end of the day, I think audiences are really going to dig watching our crazy initial walk-throughs, our mid-rehab challenges and some pretty phenomenal finished products.

Don’t forget to set your DVR’s to record FOF Atlanta on Thursdays at 9/8c starting July 20th!

Thanks,
