We started looking for a home in Cherokee County in mid-2017. We wanted a smaller retirement home (under 2500 sq.ft.) on at least an acre of land, preferably not in a subdivision. 

We found several resale homes in Cherokee Co. that met our needs; but as soon as we made an offer, another buyer would counter-offer without a contingency – we needed to sell our home in Roswell. So, we soon decided to build our retirement home. After seeing several of the homes that Red Barn had built, we didn’t consider another builder. Red Barn provided the smaller footprint homes with the upgrades that we sought: 10’ ceilings, large front and back porches, easily-accessible storage above the oversized garage, custom kitchen and bathrooms, and privacy. Red Barn also allowed us to make many changes to the floor plan that we decided upon: enlarged rooms, reconfigured window and door layouts to allow for more natural light, custom fireplace and chimney treatments, fully sodded yard with sprinkler system and custom fencing. And Red Barn had us in our new home 6 months after they broke ground!
